David Swinton is a sculptor specialising in Artist-in-Residence work in Primary Schools in a number of creative disciplines, principally Paper Sculpture. Workshops, Inset, Twilight sessions and lectures on Creativity are specially tailored to the needs of Primary staff teaching KS1 and KS2 and their pupils. He also offers an Environmental Sculpture service to enable schools to enrich their immediate surroundings; buildings, walls and fences, turf, tarmac, playgrounds, gardens, ponds, pools and wildlife areas. Three-dimensional and bas-relief artworks in a variety of different materials can be commissioned for these areas. David has a BA Hons in Sculpture and is a qualified teacher with over thirty years experience of working in schools, museums and galleries. His work has been commissioned by the Natural History Museum, Lloyds TSB, ICI, the Imperial War Museum, Duxford and the RSPB. BBC's Timewatch, BFT, Songs of Praise and Blue Peter programmes have all featured his work. He has been honoured to produce calligraphic pieces, which have included miniature paper sculpture, for presentation to Her Majesty the Queen during her Silver Jubilee and the late Queen Mother on her 80th Birthday.
